Since I don't know if anyone has made a board about this, I think it's time that we all pay tribute to our best friends, those people who have been with us through thick and thin, through bad times and good, and are rocks, confidants, secret keepers, and the like. This board is for all of you to brag about your best friend or friends and tell everyone why your best friends kick ass! You can share memories, or special moments, or just what trumps them above anyone else's best friend. Haha just kidding. Carry on!!!

My wife: She has always been by my side, regardless of what I've been going through. She makes our house a real home, and keeps me grounded in reality, while we still have a lot of fun. She's everything I could have ever asked for, and much more than I ever expected.

Kick ass topic!
I have known my best friend, Jordyn, for the past eight years. I love her because she is a fun-loving chick with a good sense of humor. She is an extremely confident woman, and is also very supportive, and provides comfort or technological advice/help whenever I need it.
We have never had a huge argument, and I know I can trust her with any information. I also love her because we can live together and not kill each other. We don't tamper with each other's crap, and we're both neat freaks.
I love that even when we go for long stretches without talking to each other because of school or whatever, she still meets me halfway in scheduling a skype call or a time to hang out.
Lastly, she's amazing because she puts up with my aggressive and crass sense of humor, occasional bad manners, and compulsion to dance in public wherever there's good music.

I first met my best friend Ruth 12 years ago. I don't see her now because she lives in Birmingham England. I met her at ollege. But we stil keep intouch threw texting. She is the first person I tell about good and bad things. When there was any trouble at college Ruth would always be on my side. She put up with my depression and a lot of people don't.

I love all these responses!!! Thanks guys! Ok, here goes mine. I have two best friends, a guy and a girl!
Brooke has been my best friend for most of my life. We met at blind preschool when we were 3, lost touch for a bit, and remet at a camp when I was 11, and picked up where we left off. Words cannot describe this girl and our friendship, she’s exceedingly brilliant, she’s beautiful in every single way, and she’s one of the funniest people I know. I have more inside jokes with her than I can even count, and we always create new ones when we see each other. We’ve been through a lot of crazy things together, and we live an hour and a half from each other, but we make time to ssee each other and skype as much as possible!!! I don’t get to see her as often as I’d like to, but we make the most of our times together! She’s stuck by me through the awkwardness of middle school and high school, has supported me through tough times, and has cheered me on through the good times! She also introduced me to this sight, so Dissonance, here’s to you and our crazy friendship. Here’s to New Year’s eve traditions, skype movie dates, Alice’s Restaurant, fighting jerks, inside jokes, waffle cook outs, crying sessions, laughing until we choke on water, being ridiculous, serious conversations, being there for each other, being best friends for over ten years, and creating a million more eternities of memories!!! I love you so much!!!

if I have something to share with someone I consider a best friend, I'll share it with them, not post it to a public forum for strangers to see. just sayin'.

Most of my close friends live far from me, so we can't get together and hang out often. However we chat on the phone or skype for several hours at a time, laugh with each other, and so on.
I have made great friends on the zone too. I will not disclose their names here, but even though we haven't met yet, we are hoping to someday.

I agree with Chelsea and Amanda. I have several very close friends, but I won't disclose their names. Most of them live far away, but have long phone conversations about pretty much anything and everything. One of them introduced me to this site, through which I made another close friend. We haven't met in person yet, but we plan to do so at some point.

Yeah, I agree with some of the folks on here, it's too private for me to share names, and even if I do, you would not know who they were. but they are my friends because they are loving, caring, and people who are those to who shares values with me.
